Varibles and filters serve for analysing subsets of the data and allows the users to statically or dynamically modify content of the report. It is feature, that makes filtering and drilling into the report very straightforward for report viewers. When Filter is set up to drill-down path, all Views including this Drill-down will be filtered according the definition.

BellaDati support many different types of filters and variables:

  • Report filters - used to modify the content of the whole report. Multiple filters can be displayed in the sidebar or directly in the report as a special type of view. Each filter can have different functionality and appearance.
  • View filters - used to modify the content of a single view (chart, table, map, etc.). The filters are displayed directly in the view in selected position. Each filter can have different functionality and appearance.
  • Variables - used to dynamically load values into formulas and date intervals.
  • Static filters - used to display only a subset of the data in the view. Users can modify these filters, but they are generally used as static filters which are configured during the setup of the report.
